Asarum europaeum (European Wild Ginger)

Excellent, slowly spreading ground cover for hostas. Glossy, leather, heart-shaped, dark green leaves which remain evergreen in mild winters. Non-invasive. Slowly multiplies over several years. One of the best foliage plants for part shade to full shade. Best grown in humusy, slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soils. Deer resistant.
